Myrtice Ann Oglesbee, born July 11, 1934 and passed away April 4, 2018 at her home.
Myrtice was born in Atlanta, GA on July 11, 1934 to Noel and Annie Lou Farr.
She graduated from Robert E Lee High School in Thomaston, GA June 2, 1953 where she was a cheerleader.
She married the love of her life Earl Oglesbee June 28, 1953. Most of her life was spent in Denison, TX serving the Lord with her husband Earl. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where her husband was the pastor for 40 years.
Myrtice, is survived by her husband, Earl, 4 children; Terri Deweber and husband, Johnny, Keith Oglesbee and wife Ivy, Marty Oglesbee and wife, Becky and Rebecca Shastid and husband, Lloyd.
She has 15 grandchildren: Steve and Shane Deweber; Scott, Matthew, Jason, Michael, Jessica and Travis Oglesbee, Kathleen Petty, Brittany Stephens, Cody Horn, Candy Meadows, Garrett Burton, Taylor Shastid and Brittany Hicks.
18 great-grandchildren: Tristin, Dakota, Chloe and Rorie Deweber, Sydney Hudson, Haley, Kinsey, Shiann, Jaiden, Ethan, Liam and Logan Oglesbee, Dillon and Jack Petty, Cayden Aviles, Carson Buckner, Wyatt Shastid, Jackson and Colton Hicks, and 1 great-great grandchild Adeline Grace Deweber.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Noel and Annie Lou Farr, her brother, William Farr and her sister, Irene Oglesbee.
Myrtice’s family was her life. Myrtice’s home was always open to family and friends and you were always welcome. Everyone knew her as “granny”.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday April 6, 2018 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Denison, TX. with Pastor Dennis Garner and Chaplain Alan Mattingly officiating.
The family will be at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home for visitation Thursday night from 6-8 pm.
Burial service will be at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, TX.
Services are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Emmanuel Baptist Church.
