Loverta Elmore, 94, passed away at her residence in Denison on Friday, January 11, 2013.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in Pottsboro Georgetown Cemetery. Reverend Keith Taylor will officiate.
Loverta was born on September 30, 1918 in Luella, Texas, the daughter of Bert and Victoria Griffith Miller. She graduated in 1937 from Denison High School. She and John Elmore were married in Sherman on November 3, 1937. He preceded her in death on August 6, 1997.
Mrs. Elmore worked for both Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and GTE for a total of 43 years. She never missed a day of work for 28 years. She loved to garden and took care of 40 acres that she owned with her husband.
The family requests memorials to Donna Higginbotham and staff at Nanaws Place, 1100 W. Munson, Denison, TX 75020. The family would like to thank Hospice Plus for the care they provided Mrs. Elmore.
She is survived by her sons, Roger Elmore and Patti of Denison and Steve Elmore of Texas; daughter, Joyce Willis of Denison; grandchildren, Jason Elmore, John Willis, Valeria Willis and Bryan Willis; six great-grandchildren and 4 1/2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John and brothers and sisters.
