Ruby Ree Payne passed away peacefully December 20, 2012. Her ashes will be interred at Georgetown Cemetery. There will be no service. The family requests memorials to Grayson County Home Hospice, 505 W. Center St., Sherman, TX 75090 or THF, 5036 Reba Dr., Denison, TX 75020.
Ruby was born in Sherman, Texas, April 10, 1921 to George Moore and Maggie McGowan Moore. She grew up in Hagerman, Texas and married J.C. Payne, December 19, 1937.
Ruby lived in Pottsboro, owned a cafe and later a Beauty Shop. In 1974 she moved to Sadler, Texas before moving to Mauk Circle in Denison. Her husband preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, George Payne of Memphis, Tennessee; daughters, Markoleta Wilson and her husband, Bob of Fort Worth, Texas and Owieta Nell Post of Fort Meyer, Florida; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home in Denison.
