Denison – Sally Daley passed away on Monday, September 10, 2012 at her home in Denison, Texas. She was born Isaltina Miranda on April 4, 1927 in Fall River, Massachusetts. She was the second of three daughters born to Pedro Miranda and Belmira Chaves both of the Archipelago of the Azores. Sally was required to quit school at an early age in order to aid her parents during the Depression. Despite her parents’ Old World views about propriety, in 1946 she met and fell in love with an Irish boy at a church social. They eloped and were married in Bridgeport, Connecticut in August of 1947. They started their lives together with $200.00, a radio and the clothes on their backs. Over the years, they lived in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Washington, California and Texas.
Sally is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William J. Daley and her two sisters, Marilyn and Mami.
She is survived by her family which includes her two sons, Bob Daley of Denison; his two children, Kathy Klosser of California and Ken Daley married to Gabriella; their three boys, Gary, Tony and Kenny all of Fort Worth; and Bill Daley married to Susan and their child, Amy all of Denison.
Sally and her family would like to say thank you to Guardian Hospice for their excellent service and most especially to Robin Hein for her tireless dedication and invaluable friendship.
