Thelma Castleberry, 88, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2012 at Georgetown Baptist Church in Pottsboro, in the original sanctuary. Reverend Bobby Hancock will officiate. Burial will follow in Callisburg Cemetery in Callisburg, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Castleberry, Chris Castleberry, James Gargus, Steve Ritchey, Gaylon Parker and Danny Castleberry.

Visitation will be at the Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel, 511 W. Hwy 120, Pottsboro, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday.

Thelma was born on March 12, 1924 in Pilot Point, Texas, the daughter of Bud and Kattie Renfro Mitchell. She attended school in Callisburg and married James Castleberry on August 30, 1942 in Gainesville, Texas.

Mrs. Castleberry was a homemaker, a member of Georgetown Baptist Church where she served on various committees, taught Sunday School and was a member of the choir.

The family suggests memorials to the Callisburg Cemetery, C/O Dean Mendenhall, 662 CR 113, Whitesboro, TX 76273.

She is survived by her husband, James of Pottsboro; son, Ronnie Castleberry and his wife, Janine of Southlake, Texas; daughter, Peggy Fultz and her husband, Tom of Rockwall, Texas; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
