To honor his wishes Mr. Russell was cremated.
Donald "Don" Lester Russell, 84, passed away on Thursday; December 17, 2009 at Texoma Medical Center.
A private family memorial service will be held on Sunday; December 20, 2009.
Don was born the son of Lester and Chloe Crump Russell in Malone, New York on May 22, 1925. He graduated from Chittenago High School in Chittenago, New York and attended Syracuse University in New York. He married Ermajean (Jean) Gumaer on October 23, 1948 in Bridgeport, New York.
He owned the 7-UP Bottling Company in Denison and the Mirick Ave. Texaco Station in Denison. Mr. Russell served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife Jean Russell of Denison; sons, Lester Russell and his wife Wendy of Fort Worth, Texas, Donnie Russell and his wife Vicki of Bells, Texas, Tim Russell and his wife Elsie of Denison, Jeff Russell and Tom Russell both of Denison; daughters, Lana Wade and her husband James Larry of Denison, Sherry Russell of Pottsboro, Jean Morris and her husband Philip of Bonham and Debra Cox and her husband Tony of Cedar Creek, Texas; sister, Shirley Harrer of New York.
He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and his son, Donald L. Russell, Jr.
