Richard "Rick" Kevin Starr

Richard “Rick” Kevin Starr, born on December 13, 1956, in Watertown, New York, departed this world on October 23, 2023. He was the beloved child of Richard Vern Starr and Lillian Gail Wright.

Rick is survived by a loving family, leaving a legacy of love and warmth in their hearts. He is survived by his two cherished children, Zackary Starr of Pottsboro, Texas, and Makenzie Starr of Houston, Texas, who carry forward his spirit of determination and kindness. Rick also leaves behind three dear siblings: Shelby Starr of Roanoke, VA, Pat Starr of Colorado, and Suzanne Starr of Roanoke, VA. He is further survived by his nephew, Christopher Clark of Sherman, Texas, and niece, Emmalie Starr of Roanoke, VA, who will always remember their uncle’s loving presence. Rick is also survived by his children’s mother and friend, Sharon Starr of Abilene, Texas

Rick’s fur baby and closest companion, Hogan, stood by his side through thick and thin, offering unwavering comfort and companionship.

Preceding him in death, Rick was reunited with his parents, Richard Vern Starr and Lillian Gail Wright.
Rick’s life was dedicated to the service of his community. For 36 years, he served as a Denison Police Officer, rising to the esteemed rank of Lieutenant. His dedication and commitment to the safety and well-being of others left an indelible mark on those he served and protected.

Beyond his professional life, Rick was a passionate soul. He found joy in the freedom of the open road, taking delight in riding his beloved Harley motorcycles. His love for the outdoors and his expertise on the grill were shared with family and friends, making every gathering a memorable event. Rick’s heart was always open to animals. His dedication to fitness and exercise demonstrated his unwavering commitment to a healthy and active lifestyle.

Richard “Rick” Kevin Starr will be remembered for his warm heart, dedication to duty, and the love he shared with his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion and strength, reminding us all to embrace life’s adventures and cherish the bonds we hold dear.

As we say our final farewell, let us honor the memory of Rick and keep his spirit alive in our hearts, celebrating the remarkable life he lived.
