Carolyn Faye Cassell

January 4, 1952 - October 23, 2024

Carolyn Faye Cassell, 72, of Pottsboro, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024. She was born on January 4, 1952, in McKinney, Texas, to the late Porter and Dottie McBride. In 1996, she married the love of her life, David Cassell, in Pottsboro, where they built a beautiful life together.

Carol wore many hats throughout her life. She worked as a District Manager for Eckards, pursued nursing, and was a licensed hair stylist. However, her greatest and most cherished role was that of a homemaker, devotedly caring for her family. Carol had a passion for music, especially rhythm and blues, and loved to sing. She even sang in a band, sharing her gift with others. She was also a woman of deep faith, which guided her throughout her life.

Carol was a beloved member of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood club and shared many wonderful moments with her close friends. She was not only a wonderful wife and mother, but a person who was beautiful inside and out.

She is survived by her loving husband, David Cassell of Pottsboro, Texas; her daughters, Kimberly White and husband Jim of Frisco, Texas, Christi Simpson and husband Kenny of Sherman, Texas; two step-sons, Casey Cassell of Roswell, New Mexico, and Justin Cassell; her three grandchildren, Alicia Gossett and husband Eddie of Anna, Texas, Kristiffer Morrison of Forney, Texas, and Michaela Wright and husband Stephen of Denver, Colorado; and four great-grandchildren, Easton Gossett, Emma Gossett, Connor Wright, and Maddox Morrison. Carol is also survived by her siblings, Jimmy McBride and wife Vicky, Shelley McBride and wife Angela, Ronald McBride and wife Debbie, Rodger McBride and wife Lisa, and Curtis McBride and wife Trish, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson Michael Morrison, and her brothers Jerry McBride, Tommy McBride, and Harold McBride.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel, located at 511 FM 120, Pottsboro, Texas 75076. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the same location, with a committal service to follow at Georgetown Cemetery, Pottsboro, Texas.

Carolโ€™s loving spirit, kindness, and the joy she brought to those around her will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

We knew this day would come soon, and had so many conversations about the scriptures. Carolyn wanted to be with our Lord and I loved all our biblical discussions and her humor was so fun. She never had a loss for words when it came to life, family and the news! She will be sorely missed.

    Carol & Family,
I felt like I knew you my whole life. You were so warm, kind, and endearing. It felt like we knew each other our whole life long instead of a few short years. I will immensely miss cutting up with you and talking about Scriptures. You have a wonderful daughter, Kimberly, who is the best friend a girl can have. A testament to her mother. I know she will carry your legacy for the rest of her days. Until we meet again, I will carry you in my heart always.
