Sue Ann Rodgers of Denison, Texas, passed away on August 8, 2023. She was born on April 11, 1948, in Sedan, Kansas to Mac and Mae (McClanahan) Gilmartin.
Sue was a very loving and caring person. She married the love of her life, Rex, on April 15, 1966. She had a long career as an RN in many different hospitals in her tenure. Her nurturing character has helped many people over the span of her career. Sue was known to love shopping. You could find Sue in her free time crocheting, quilting, and reading. She also loved real life documentaries and shows about history. Sue had a special place for animals in her heart as well. She had a selfless heart and was caring to those in need without needing acknowledgment. Her acts of service was followed by the words, “for the love of Jesus.” Sue was a faithful Christian and was involved with bible studies at the church. She loved her family deeply and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Rex Rodgers of Denison, Texas; three children, Mac Rodgers of Knollwood, Texas, Rena Sue Hall and husband Gary of Milburn, Oklahoma, and Bonnie Rodgers of Sherman, Texas; four grandchildren, Daniel Rodgers, Lora Rodgers, Christopher Hall, and Michael Rodgers; two great grandchildren, Rena Malou Hall and Kaycie Sue Hall; Niece, Debbie Sue Wood and husband Tim; and nephew, David Stidham.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bonnie Jo Stidham; brother, Jack Gilmartin; and nephew, Darrin Stidham.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the first responders, staff at TMC, and the staff at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home for their selfless attention and care for Sue.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, August 12, 2023, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 314 N Rusk Ave, Denison, Texas 75020. Family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, August 11, 2023, from 6 to 8 PM at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home, 631 W Woodard Street, Denison, Texas 75020.
