Mikel Cook, of Denison, Texas, passed away on July22, 2023. He was born on October 20, 1954, in Bonham, Texas, to Billy and Elizabeth (Dale) Cook.
Mikel had a bright personality that shined. Everyone that came across him immediately loved his spirit. Following his retirement from Johnson and Johnson, he started a lawn service that he enjoyed. He loved relaxing while listening to old school music. Another of his favorite past times was to barbeque. He had passion for watching old western shows and had a special place in his heart for animals – specifically dogs. He was a beautiful person inside and out. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his children, Shanika Jackson, Christy Bennett, Michael Cook, Matthew Cook, Joshua Harris, and Christopher Harris; several grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Sidney Cook and Lonnie Cook; two sisters, Charlotte Jackson and Vickey Cook; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Miguel Wilson; and sister, Karen Harvey.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, August 5, 2023, at
Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church –
