David Hauret

David Hauret

July 5, 2008 - May 13, 2023

David Hauret of Van Alstyne, Texas passed away on May 13, 2023 at the age of 14. He was born on July 5, 2008 in McKinney, Texas to David Hauret Sr. and Danielle (Hauret) Krusing.

As a student at Van Alstyne Middle School, David enjoyed playing the clarinet in the band, and he’d spent part of this year with the Grayson Collin Christian Co-Op. A history and science enthusiast, he was interested in all things WWI and WWII and was an avid collector of war memorabilia. Other hobbies included building computers and, most recently, fixing up his truck to create something classic, a shared adventure with his dad. David loved to crack jokes and had a keen sense about just what to say and when to bring laughter to a room. He loved his family and friends without inhibition, always making sure to hug everyone before leaving a gathering. May we all follow David’s lead and never take a minute of this precious life for granted.

He is survived by his parents, Matt and Danielle Krusing, and his sister, Deva Hauret, of Van Alstyne, Texas; his grandparents, Dave Stalnaker, Tamra Chamizo, Steve and Eva Corgill, Danny and Amy Hill, and Ray and Jill Krusing; his great-grandparents, Jerry and Mary Corgill, and Joyce Shaffer; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Hauret Sr. and grandmother, Carla Hauret.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 P.M., Friday, May 19, 2023, at Elmont Baptist Church, 13999 FM 121, Van Alstyne, Texas 75495.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Honor Flight DFW and Texas Southplains Honor Flight.
