Royce was born on April 12, 1933, in Wheeler County, Texas to the late Pearl (Marquis) Burgess and James Burgess. He went to be with his Heavenly Father on December 26, 2021, in Bonham, Texas at the age of 88 years old. Royce attended Amarillo and Grayson County Colleges and served our country in the United States Air Force. He retired after 22 years from the military and retired from Johnson & Johnson as a machine operator. Royce loved to fish and take cruises. He enjoyed having yearly fish fries with family and friends and taking cruises with his beautiful wife of 67 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother. He is survived by his loving wife, Eunice Burgess of Celina; their children, James Burgess and wife, Lonna, Pharon Burgess (Shy) and April Kennedy and husband, Kevin; five granddaughters; one great grandson; four great granddaughters and one sister. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo, TX.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
