After the service, Bob returned to the newspaper business as Circulation Manager for several papers including the Brownwood Bulletin, Sherman Democrat and Port Arthur News. He was very active in the Lodge throughout his life, serving as Master of both lodges, District Deputy and other positions. He was also a member of the Dallas division of the Scottish Rite where he was honored to be selected as a Red Hat.
He LOVED to tell stories and he told MANY stories and some stories MANY times…and SLOWLY…so…painfully…slow. But we all loved to hear his stories and will deeply miss them but remember them. He absolutely loved to hunt and fish and watch old tv westerns…and Publishers Clearing House! Yes, determined he was going to win it all!!

Juanita, Debbie, Deana and all – I am so very sorry for your (& my) loss. Bob was a wonderful person. He has been my Brother-In-Law for over 60 years and I love him dearly. He and Bill would sit for hours talking & Bill loved him like a real brother!! And about “talking” – Bob did love to talk. He knew a lot about everything and yes, it…was…very…slow!! Haha. But that was Bob. If he didn’t talk like that, we would wonder who that person was & where was Bob……. He is in a wonderful, wonderful place now and no doubt he & Bill are catching up (slowly)… I love you all and pray for the comfort knowing he is with our Lord. Deanie

The Bob Stephens that Jack and I grew to know and appreciate was one of the finest men of our acquaintance. Loved his family, respected his friends, and was always ready with an interesting tale. God bless his family and be with Juanita and his daughters during this time of grief.
