MarElla Schmidt

DENISON – MarElla Schmidt, 96, of Sherman passed away Thursday, December 27,2018 at Texoma Medical Center. She was the daughter of Marvin E. and Ella Lee Carruth Ward, born February 23, 1922 in Bonham, Texas. MarElla graduated from Denison High School and Denison Business School. She married Lonnie Rheay in 1942, Richard C. Wilson on December 21, 1961 in Denison, TX and after his death, to Raymond Schmidt on September 17,1990 in Rockwall, TX. She was a dental assistant for Dr. Rudolph Inman for many years and was a member of Waples Memorial United Methodist Church.
She is survived by son, L. Robert “Bob” Rheay of Marshall, TX; daughter, Judith Box of Cartwright, OK; sister, Mavernee Winchester of Austin, TX; grandsons, Heath Rheay of Fayetteville, AR, Chuck Rheay of Gladewater, TX and granddaughters, Lyndee Conner of Albuquerque, NM and Nikki Walker of Denison; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Ella Lee Ward and her husbands.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Chapel on the Hill Mausoleum in Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Reverend Cheryl Murphy officiating.
