Angela Valdemar King
It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Angela Valdemar King, who departed this world on Saturday, August 31, 2024 in the loving home of her granddaughter. Born March 10, 1939 to Petra and Camarino Valdemar in Encino, Tx. Angela will best be remembered for the strength, love of Jesus and sacrifices she made for her family.
Angela grew up in Falfurious,Tx prior to enlisting in the Air Force in 1957. She served two years before being honorably discharged. Her time in the Air Force took her to Albuquerque, New Mexico where she met and married Staff Sargent Roger D King on March 14, 1959 and soon began building their family of four; Kathryn, Sherry and finally the twins Angela and Roger Jr. The Air Force continued to take the new family of six across the United States to Rochester, New York and finally ending at Perrin Air Force Base in Denison, Tx.
That transfer to Perrin Air Force base would be the cornerstone for the remainder of her life. She began her 30 year career at Texas Instruments working in Pullers. Through TI she was able to graduate from Grayson County College in 1997 at the age of 58 with a certificate in Microcomputers.
After her retirement in 1998 she spent her time gardening in her backyard and helping to care for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed those days spent with her great grandchildren taking them to local peach, blueberry and pumpkin farms or putting them to work in her flower gardens pruning rose bushes and pulling weeds.
Angela was preceded in death by her parents Petra and Camerino Valdemar, sister Eloisa, brothers Arturo, Camerino, Alvaro, Arnold , Aristotle, Benjamin Valdemar, son Roger King Jr, son-in-law Les Baker and granddaughters Savannah Boes and Tiffany Butcher.
Left to cherish her memory is her sister Flora Longoria, her three daughters Kathryn L Baker, Sherry A Benedict, husband Paul and Angela P Butcher, husband Dennis. Grandchildren Brandi and husband Scott Payne, Melody and wife Kristen Smith, Mitch and wife Pam Baker, Mark Thornton, Brittany Sheffey, Justin Emas-King, Cody King and wife Kobi, Bobby Boes, Christopher Thornton, and Alicia Benedict. Along with Great grandchildren Shelby and Macey Cheatham, Jaxon and Harley Payne, Dennis, Charles and Tyler Boes, Brooke and Farrah Sheffey, Max and Annabelle King, Sloane and Andrew Smith, Bentley, Amillya and Alex Thornton. And great-great grandchildren Jamari Boes and Rylan Boes.
Pallbearers will include Cody King, Christopher Thornton, Dennis Boes, Charles Boes, Tyler Boes and Jaxon Payne.
Family will receive friends during a visitation Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 6-8 PM at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home, 631 W Woodard Street, Denison, Texas 75020. Services will be held at 11:oo AM Friday, September 6, 2024, at the same location. Graveside services will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Denison, Texas.
