I have so many stories and memories of Anita that I could write a book. Anita was a special lady born way before her time. She was spunky, intelligent, funny, loving, independent, stubborn and one tough little lady who I loved more than I can express. We shared so many things over the years and I consider myself lucky to have known her. My memories of her will live on in my heart until we meet again. Rest In Peace Anita

Anita had so much fun with her little store. It was packed with so much love! Whenever I stopped by she bubbled with joy walking around the store showing me new (old!) pieces. And she always had an interesting story to tell!

Anita shared her joy and love of life in so many ways!

    says:

Nita was very much a part of my life growing up. Christy was just a year older than me, so we spent hours laughing, talking, playing… whether it was at her house, my house, grandmother and granddad Popkess or Uncle John’s house with all our cousins. Never a dull moment. Chris had her share of struggles, but Nita never gave up on her. She had to practice a lot of tough love through the years, but love is love. Nita was her own person & didn’t let anyone else tell her how to live her life. After Chris and Gene moved to Missouri I know that Chris was faithful to call her mom often and constantly expressed her gratitude and appreciation for her mom’s love through all the ups and downs. Nita had such a love of life & family. Engraved in my memory is the sound of her voice and her laughter. Mike and Donna, thank you for looking out for her at the Memory Care Center. I’m sorry I won’t be able to make it for the graveside services. Your mom had a special place in my heart and life.

Some random pictures from around Anita’s Antiques. Her home was as creative as her shop. She surrounded herself with things that sparked her joy!

The smell of your perfume, your favorite Streisand song on the radio it all brings me back to you. My first memory of my grandma was when she was sitting at her white wicker vanity in Carrollton, Texas. I sat next to her and she put ponds cold cream on my face, and told me it was very important we always moisturize my face. As I watched my grandma in the mirror if that little vanity, I wanted to mimick her every move. I adored my grandma and to me there was no one cooler. My grandmother always used to get John, Christy and I to all line up so she could she how tall we were compared to her. I believe it was my 4th grade year I was finally taller than my grandma! She loved showing the three of us grandkids off to everyone she came in contact with, and brag about our heights. My memories with my grandma I will cherish forever in my heart. She lived her life , and was and will always be the hardest working woman I have ever known. She had the most amazing stories to tell about all of the places she travelled to. My grandmother definitely made an impression anywhere she went. May you finally be in Peace my sweet grandma Nita!!
