Burl R. Watson, 72, died Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman.
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel with Mark Williams officiating.
Burl was born in Ardmore, OK on August 26, 1946, the son of Leslie and Gladys Pauline (Webb) Watson Jr. He attended schools in Wilson, OK and obtained his bachelor’s degree as a counselor specializing in drug and alcohol addiction from East Central University in Ada, OK. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam. Burl and Evelyn Palmer were married on June 6, 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a counselor for drug and alcohol addiction and was licensed in both Texas and Oklahoma.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Watson of the home; step-son, Erik Cox of Ada, OK; step-daughter, Shelli Smith and her husband, Larry of Atoka, OK; sister, Rose Cunningham of Big Spring, TX; grandchildren, Dalton Smith, Falon Lopez and Roxanne Palmer and 5 great grandchildren.
