Carol Elaine Fines
May 14, 1951 – August 30, 2024
Carol Elaine Fines, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and community volunteer, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2024. Born in Morrilton, Arkansas, to Howard and Inita Herring, Carol was a beloved figure in the Pottsboro community where she lived with her husband, Bo.
Carol graduated from L.D. Bell High School and earned her degree from the University of Texas in Arlington. She married Bo Fines on May 22, 1981, in Arlington, Texas, and together they built a loving family.
A dedicated housewife and volunteer, Carol’s commitment to her community was evident in her many roles. She volunteered in the gift shop at the Texoma Medical Center and was a board member with the Preston Volunteer Emergency Services Foundation, among other organizations. Carol was a member of the Georgetown Baptist Church in Pottsboro and enjoyed participating in several book clubs and community groups.
She is survived by her husband Bo Fines of Pottsboro, TX; her children Scott Fines and his wife Claire of Breckenridge, CO; Renee Jarman and her husband Charley of Midlothian, TX; and Jamie Reid and her husband Wil of Whitney,TX and her cherished grandchildren Cole, Zach, and Ty Quigley; Audrey, Emily, Rynn, Preslee, and Shelby Reid; and Paxton Jarman. She is also survived by her brother Tom Herring.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her son Rick Springer.
A visitation will be held on September 11, 2024, at 1 PM, followed by a celebration of life at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Preston Volunteer Emergency Services Foundation, PO Box 2347, Pottsboro, TX 75076.
Carol’s warmth, generosity, and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
