Dale Edwin Montgomery, age 75, of Pottsboro, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2024. Born on September 24, 1948, he cherished a life filled with love for the outdoors, fishing, and hunting. Known for his strong work ethic, Dale often earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
Growing up in Pottsboro, Dale attended school in Denison and later pursued his education at Grayson County College. His roots in the community ran deep, and he took great pride in his heritage.
Dale is survived by his beloved spouse, Tonja Montgomery; his children, Karen Montgomery and husband Richard Fortuna, Clint Montgomery and wife Donna, Brandi Darnell and husband Shawn Williamson, Cody Teel, and Adam Teel and wife Stormy. He was a proud grandfather to Draven Fortuna, Ian Montgomery, Michael Call, Layla Darnell, Lilliana Meade, and Maverick Teel.
He is also survived by his lifelong friend, Terry Mathis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Montgomery and Nowassia Densmore, and his sister, Rhydonia Broyles.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at the Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel. A graveside service will take place at 2 PM on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro, Texas.
Dale’s legacy of hard work, love for family, and passion for the outdoors will forever be remembered by those who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
