Darryl Smith

Darryl Smith, 70, of Pottsboro passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014 in Dallas.
He was born on June 30, 1943 in Sherman to Durwood and Virgie Randall Smith. He graduated Sherman High School and then attended North Texas State University where he received a BS in Education. Darryl retired from JC Penney as Director of Business Services and was a member of Saint John’s Episcopal Church, American Legion Post 231 and served in the Army National Guard. Mr. Smith was known as “Gator Man”. He married Cindy Smith on July 2, 1992 in Sherman.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel with Brother Patrick Brookins officiating and Bob Jackson closing in Prayer. A family visitation will be held one hour prior to service time on Saturday.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Smith of Pottsboro; Son, Rick Smith and wife Amy of Kansas City, Kansas; Daughter, Renny and husband Brian Pedersen of Chicago, Illinois; Step-sons, Greg and wife Jill Dills of Durant, Oklahoma, and Todd and wife Sundy Dills of Lucas, TX.; Step-daughter, Lori Wilson of Durant, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; and 3 step great-grandchildren.
