DENISON
David H. Green Sr., 79, of Denison passed away July 3, 2010 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Sherman, Tx. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Denison, Tx. with the Rev. Keith Taylor officiating. Graveside Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 8, 2010 at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Burlington, Texas with Father Walter Matus officiating with Military Graveside Services by the Navy Honor Guard.
Mr. Green was born on January 25, 1931 at Littlefield, Texas to Otto and Gertrude Dolle Green. He married Helen G. Marrs on June 21, 1952 in Boston, Mass. and she preceded him in death on December 21, 1995. He later married Olinda Hudson on October 14, 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Green was retired from the U.S. Navy in the Medical Corp. and served with the U.S. Marine Corp in combat during the Korean War. He owned and operated his own medical laboratory in Grand Prairie, Texas. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve/Texoma and was a Catholic. Mr. Green was patriotic and loved his country. When he retired he enjoyed traveling, gardening and was a gourmet cook. He loved his family and will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Olinda Green of Sherman, Texas; sons, David H. Green Jr. of Burleson, Texas, Bob Green of Arlington, Texas, John F. Green of Sherman, Texas and step-son Stephen Douglas of Denison, Texas; daughters, Catherine Danner of Arlington, Texas, Veronica Mallette of Victoria, Texas, Elizabeth G. Green of Victoria, Texas and step-daughter, Valerie Letz of Denison, Texas; brothers, Harold Green of Ft. Worth, Texas, Cornelius Green and wife Susan of Portland, Texas; sisters, Joan Plumlee of Cyclone, Texas, Orlena Berry and husband Calvin of Mustang, OK; sister-in-law: Lydia Green of Pep, Texas and Sherry Bynum of Oklahoma City, OK.; 27 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Helen Marrs; his parents; brother, Franklin Green; brother-in-law, Wesley Plumlee; and sister-in-law Irene Green.
His Grandsons will be the pallbearers.
