DENISON
Douglas Edell Johnson, 82, of Denison, TX passed away at his home on August 22, 2018. Mr. Johnson was the owner/operator of many small businesses and resided in Denison for over sixty years. He will be dearly missed by the community of friends and relatives; Most of whom were given endearing nicknames.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Hazel Gretchen Bierce & Fern Virgil Bierce (of Denison) and his parents Audrey Bierce Johnson & Ralph Edell Johnson.
“Old Doug” as he was known by many, enjoyed travelling, Waylon Jennings music and was a frequent patron of the Choctaw Casino. He was an avid animal lover and over the years he enjoyed spending time with his pet squirrels, cats, skunks and dogs.
His loved ones describe him as strong willed, hard headed and very sentimental. He was a generous man and cared deeply for his family and friends.
Mr. Johnson leaves behind three children: Keresa Richardson (husband, J.R.) of McKinney, TX. Ralph Johnson (wife, Rhonda) of Denison, TX. Dr. Greg Johnson (wife, Karen) of Denison, TX. 9 Grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 24th, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Denison, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home. Condolences may be registered to www.johnsonmoorefuneralhome.net.

    I used to go to his record store on Morton St. He was always so funny and full of stories and knowledge. I really enjoyed our visits. I was just looking up to see if he was still open when I saw this. My condolences to his family and loved ones. What a great man he was. May he forever rest in peace. <3
