Edith A. Sanders, 94, died at her residence in Denison on Thursday, January 15, 2015.
Rosary services will be recited at 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 18 at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home with a Visitation to follow from 6:30-7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home with Deacon Gary Vogel presiding. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Denison. Serving as her pallbearers will be, Keith Ward, Trey Frazier, Dan Holloway, Thomas Hooker and Sean Summers.
Edith was born in Homer, Louisiana on March 31, 1920 to her parents Wyatt Moses and Myra Price Simpson. She and Earl Aaron Sanders were married on August 5, 1936 in Tullos, Louisiana. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1975. She retired from Pillsbury where she worked in the pre-mix section. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and was a member of the ladies alter society.
She is survived by her daughters, Earlene Barnes of Illinois and Elaine Neff of Denison; grandchildren, Dee Dee Holloway, Natalie Neff, Erin Sanders, Becky Austin, Linda Bickers and Mike McNealy; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; son, Eugene Sanders; daughter, Elizabeth Sanders; one brother and one sister.
Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
