Calvin Fulenchek—Elbert Calvin Fulenchek, 90, of Pottsboro passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 at Texoma Care Center in Sherman.

Calvin was born February 2, 1925 to Joe Thomas and Ida Belle McAlister Fulenchek in Pottsboro. As a young man he worked at Lake Texoma after it was built doing an assortment of jobs, including working at the spillway. He went on to work for the Katy Railroad and eventually retired from the Pottsboro Independent School District. Calvin enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He loved telling about the many 40+ pound catfish he had caught in Lake Texoma and sharing his garden with others. He was especially proud of his land that was passed down to him by his parents that were Czech Republic immigrants, that property, now has been in the family over a hundred years.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2015 at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel with Brother Basil McClure officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Cemetery.
Family visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Pottsboro Chapel.

Survivors include his daughter, Susan Denton of Bedford, TX and son, Dale Fulenchek and his wife, Betty of Pottsboro; grandsons, Adam Denton, Jason Fulenchek and his wife Laura, Andy Fulenchek and his wife, Kim and granddaughter Dawn Bundy. Great-grandchildren, Brooke, Christian, Sven, Olivia, Hank, Frank and Kora. Specisl nieces and nephews, Doris Conrad, Pam Kelley, Brenda Raley, Jimmy Elmore, Robert Clement and many others.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Vivian Roy, Annie Clountz, Viola Dutton and Josie Elmore; and brothers, George, Joe and Paul.

Pallbearers will be Raymond, Noel and Marvin Fulenchek, Jason Lynch, Corey Conrad and Justin Clement. Honorary pallbearer will be Robert Clement.

Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
