Evelyn F. “Nanny” Dick, 85, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Beacon Hill Nursing Home.
Visitation is Monday, March 18, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home with Dr. Ron Cunningham.
Evelyn was born on March 8, 1928 in Filmore, Oklahoma, the daughter of Napolian B. and Emma Carter Murphy. She married William M. “Bill” Dick on March 3, 1950 in Fort Worth, Texas. He preceded her in death on July 28,, 2011.
She worked at Diaper Jeans for several years, Levi-Strass, trained managers for Lexington Apartments and co-owned with her husband a transportation service for funeral homes.
The family requests memorials to Guardian Hospice.
She is survived by her sons, Leon Lenard and his wife, Pat of Denison and Samuel “Rusty” Dick and his wife, Susan of Denison; brothers, Frog Murphy of Oklahoma and H.C. Murphy of Denison; sisters, Molly Hope of Garland, Texas, Etta Hannical and her husband, Daryl of Denison and Glenda Taylor of Denison; grandchildren, Rayleen Bohannan, Joanie Baker, Kenda Cox, Joseph Shires, Mark Lenard, James Lenard, Katrina Espinosa, Kayla Hammit, Bill Dick and James Dick; great-grandchildren, Kaden Dick, Tyler Dick, Garrett Dick, Cale Dick and Sissy; several other great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William “Bill” Dick; brothers, sisters and grandson, Johnny House.
A special thank you to our friend, Dr. David Garvin, staff of Beacon Hill Nursing Home and Guardian Hospice. Mrs. Dick requested to be cremated after the service.
