Captain Peddicord Family —– With regret I read the obit for Captain Peddicord in the online edition of the local newspaper. I lost contact with Captain Peddicord when he moved from Pottsboro to Georgia — and did not realize that he had returned to the Sherman/Denison area —- would have really enjoyed visiting with him. Captain Peddicord was a longtime patient of mine —- and we shared frequently our memories of the U.S. Navy. I always thought the USN “missed the boat” by not having Captain Peddicord serving as an Admiral !! GodSpeed my Friend !! Respectfully —- John P. Tyson M.D. Denison, Texas USN 1962–1968

    says:

Dr. Tyson: Gerald was buried last Saturday on a clear day in his hometown of Wamego Kansas. He was laid to rest beside my mother who passed away in 2014. They enjoyed a long and loving marriage of 43 years. He spoke of you often and enjoyed your exchange of emails. He was my stepfather since the age of 19 years and was a great human being. He had full military honors at this graveside service. To say he was one who, Had The Right Stuff, is an understatement. Thank you for your kind words. Richard
