Gloria Jean Pickens McRae Amerson, 64, of Denison passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Texoma Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Faith Fellowship Baptist Church with Reverend Russell Clemons officiating.
Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM, Friday Night at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
She was born on February 26, 1949 at McKeesport, PA., to James and Alberta Springer Pickens. Mrs. Amerson attended Waco schools and graduated from Sherman High School in 1967. She married Jackie McRae on June 24,1967 in Sherman, he preceded her in death on December 7, 1988. She later married Anthony Amerson on August 23, 1990 in Denison. Gloria was a homemaker and worked the latter part of her life at Panera Bread in Sherman. She was a wonderful homemaker, loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of East Baptist Church for many years and then became a member of Faith Fellowship Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony “Tony” Amerson of Denison; daughters, Shelley Henderson and her husband, Raymond of Pottsboro, Sheri Allison of Denison and Shanna Hobbs and her husband Andrew, of Alamosa, CO; sisters, Barbara Danna and her husband, Kirwin and Kathy Reynolds and her husband, Rick all of West, TX; 11 grandchildren, Kayleigh, Shelby, Leoren, Katie, Kaety, Tanner, Rachel, Ryan, Joshua, Hayven and Cyrus; 2 great-grandchildren, Talon and Ava; numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one husband, and one brother, Miles Pickens.
Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
