Helen Louise (Goff) McCain
A talented artist, Helen painted and sculpted both the realistic and whimsical. She also was an accomplished seamstress, sewing for her family and her church, St. Luke’s Episcopal in Denison. She loved to cook for her greatest love, her husband, Charles R. McCain. Her gentleness and keen intelligence will be missed by all who knew her.
She died Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the age of 75 in the care of her family at The Terrace of Denison and Guardian Hospice.
The family will receive visitors 1 hour prior to the service at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014 in the chapel at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home with Father Don Perschall officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Marcus G. Jones, Robert Lescelius, Donald Lescelius and John C. Thompson.
She was born on October 4, 1938, the only daughter of Marvin L. Goff and Lillie (Lola) McIntyre of Denison, both deceased. Her brother, Dennis Earl “Dee” Goff preceded her in death in 1999. She graduated from Denison High School in 1957.
We who will not forget her are her husband, Charles R. McCain, Denison; daughter, Celeste Lescelius, Azle, TX; son, Marcus G. Jones, Arlington, TX; grandchildren, Monica Renee Thompson, Aledo, TX, Robert Lescelius, Lake Worth, TX, Donald Lescelius, Arlington, TX ;grandson-in-law, John C. Thompson, Aledo, TX and 2 great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the staff of The Terrace of Denison and Guardian Hospice.
