James Dowen Jones, 72, died Thursday, September 24, 2020 in an automobile accident in Cozad, Nebraska.
James was born in McKinney, Texas on August 10, 1948, the son of Willie Dowen and Alma Jean (Rogers) Jones. He graduated from McKinney High School. James and Lynda Culysta Mabary were married on September 27, 1976 in Denison, Texas.
James retired from working as a truck driver and mechanic. He was of the Assembly of God faith.
James is survived by his wife, Lynda Culysta Jones of the home; sons, James D. Jones, Jr. of Denton, TX and Tad DeFrange of Denison, TX; daughters, Lisa Ann Kongenske of Flower Mound, TX and Stormy Jane’en Santi of Austin, TX; brother, Tommy Jones of Allen, TX; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 6,2020 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Reverend Larry Myers officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
