James Ralph McLean, 78, of Sherman, Texas, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Hagerman Baptist Church with Reverend Neal Alexander and Reverend Doug Lacey officiating. Burial will be in Hagerman Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Hagerman Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Larry Guilloud, Jason Gattis, Bob Gattis, Clay Burns, David Hardenburg, Reubin Chambers, Brian Sethaler and Bart Lawrence.
Mr. McLean was born November 27, 1034 in Vernon, Texas to John E. and Mary Irene Richie McLean. He graduated from Lockett High School in Lockett, Texas. He married Annette Streit on October 15, 1955, and she preceded him in death on July 29, 1974. He married Sarah Lawrence Kennon on June 20, 1975.
He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1984, and retired from McCoy’s Building Supply in 1999. He was presently engaged in farming and ranching.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah McLean of Sherman; sons, Russell McLean and his wife, Tiana of Tomball, Texas, Darell Kennon and his wife, Jana of Vernon, Texas; daughters, Beth McLean Cook and her husband, Lee of Vernon, Texas, Delores Kennon of Dallas, Texas; brother, John (Butch) McLean of Vernon, Texas; sisters, Shirley Nichols of Vernon, Texas, Charlotte Lockett of Decatur, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer Cook, Josh Cook, Andrew John McLean, Shelby Catherine McLean, Sally Kennon, Maggie Kennon; and great-grandchildren, Carson Cook and Taylor Polvado.
The family would like to thank Dr. Benson and staff for the excellent care that he received.
