Jason Clark Brinlee, age 35, went to be with the Lord on September 16, 2022. He was born on June 13, 1987, in Denison, Texas.
Left to cherish his memory are his Father, Larry Odell Brinlee and wife Monica, of Denison; his Mother, Laura (Beth) Knight Smith and husband Danny, of Rockwall; his Sister Melissa Brinlee Schroeder and husband Daryl, of Rockwall, their children Matt, Luke, Chloe and Logan; his Brother Jared Brinlee and wife Renè of Lafayette, LA, their daughter, Leila; his Grandma Lucretia Erving of Sherman. Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, including Uncle Jim and Aunt Kathy Durham of Kennard (Brandon, Kevin and Sarah); Uncle Bruce and Aunt Patty Keklock of Virginia Beach, VA (Heather and Maureen); Aunt Leslie Knight, of Rockport (Spencer and Lauren); Uncle Calvin and Aunt Ruby Knight of Waco (Jerrod); Uncle Jeff and Aunt Sherry Loudin of Temple (Nathan and Travis), Aunt Janice Harp of Sherman (Dustin, Daesha, Miranda, Autumn, Breall, Kendell, and Macey).
Jason’s family members who preceded him in death included his much beloved Papaw and Memaw, Walter Knight Sr. and Vera Knight; his Grandpa Larry G Brinlee; and his Uncle Walter Knight Jr.
Jason was part of a small group home, Ida House, and he attended and graduated from Howe High School. He loved all his extended family at Ida House and his Life Skills Class. So many people have touched Jason’s life, to whom we are very grateful, caregivers and teachers who have dedicated their lives to helping those with special needs.
Jason had his own way of expressing himself through his heartwarming smiles and exuberant joy. Despite his limitations, he spread happiness and cheer to all he met throughout our community, like a spot of bright sunshine.
He had a special place in the hearts of his Papaw and Memaw, and loved visiting them at their home “The Home Port” where some of his most fun times included golf cart rides, impromptu trips to Braum’s, homemade cookies and ice cream, eating corn on the cob, and 4th of July fireworks with all his family. Jason was also happy to host his school class for cookouts, golf cart rides and homemade pies at The Home Port.
Even after high school, Jason forever loved to cheer a good Dallas Cowboys football game, and watch his favorite shows – Blues Clues, Barney and The Lion King.
Jason will be missed by so many, and forever remembered in our hearts. We know there is a special place in Heaven for our sweet Jason, made whole and able to do all the things he could not do here on earth.
“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”. 2 Corinthians 5:8
