Juanita Martinez Gonzales, 63, passed away at her home in Denison on Monday, June 29, 2015.
Family visitation will be 4 – 8:30 p.m.Sunday at Hernandez Funeral Home, 800 Fourth St., Rosenberg, Texas. Rosary services will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2015 at Hernandez Funeral Home. Burial will follow in San Francisco Cemetery in East Bernard, Texas.
Juanita was born on October 4, 1951 in Hallettsville, Texas, the daughter of Antonio and Anastacia Guerrero Martinez. She was educated in East Bernard, Texas. She loved to cook for all of her family and all of their friends. Juanita would take children in and care for them like they were her own in their time of need. She was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by her sons, Antonio Tamez and his wife, Stefanie of Columbus, Texas, Charles Salazar, Jr. and his wife, Vickie of Sherman, Bennie Gonzales, Jr. and his wife, Trish, Jaime L Gonzales, Daniel L. Gonzales Sr. and his wife, Jessica, and Daniel L. Gonzales Jr. all of Denison; daughter, Cynthia Patterson and her husband, R.D. of Denison; brothers, Juan Miguel Martinez of East Bernard, Texas and Raymond Martinez of Louisiana; sisters, Alice Garza of East Bernard, Texas, Margie Sosa of Victoria, Texas and Victoria Galvan of Beasley, Texas; 27 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Antonio Martinez.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
