Larry Eugene Vogelsang was born September 13, 1946 to Forrest Everett Vogelsang and Martha Johnson Vogelsang in Kansas City, Missouri.
Larry passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.
After graduating from Shawnee Mission East High School in Prairie Village, Kansas in 1964, he attended Kansas State University and Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California, majoring in Physics and Electrical Engineering.
He joined the United States Air Force in 1966, serving 4 years at Perrin AFB, Denison, Texas.
Larry married Janis Cassell on June 14, 1968. They moved to Prairie Village, KS for 6 years and then spent the next 30 years in Kramer, Nebraska. He retired from Sprint and moved back to Pottsboro, Texas in 2006.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Janis Cassell Vogelsang of Pottsboro,Texas. brother, Dave Vogelsang and wife, Robin of Buterville, Indiana, sister-in-law, Marcy Harrelson and husband, Don of Denison, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Martha Vogelsang.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held 2PM Sunday, April 03, 2016 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7873, Lake Texoma, Pottsboro, Texas. Chaplin Perry “Zip” Tarver will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
