Leona (Lee) Evelyn Vance, born on January 30, 1920 in Akron, Ohio, passed away on October 15, 2018 at the age 98. Lee married her husband Lt.Col. (Ret) Robert L. After his retirement in 1966, they settled into civilian life in New Braunfels, Tx. She volunteered for several organizations around town, and they traveled the country in their prized R.V. In the summer of 1999 they decided to move to Sherman, TX to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren. She spent her last few years living at Pecan Point Assisted Living in Sherman and her family wishes to express their gratitude and thanks to all of her wonderful care givers. Mrs. Vance was preceded in death by her parents, son, Richard, and husband, Robert. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Barker of Sherman, TX, daughter-in-law, Louise Vance of North Carolina and grandchildren, Rob and Dave Vance of North Carolina, Kevin Barker of Dallas and Sarah Barker of Sherman. Mrs. Vance’s ashes will be interred at St. John’s Episcopal Church in New Braunfels, Tx alongside her late husband. Per her wishes no services are planned.
