I had the pure joy of being a close friend of Linda for the last 30 years. I spent 8 days with her in Virginia over Memorial Day. We had a blast. We attended a play at the Kennedy center, got to see the Rolling Thunder and partied like rock stars. She was supposed to be here with me today for her birthday. There is a hole in my heart and I will always miss her infectious smile, her emotional support and most of all her unconditional friendship. Love you Linda. Merilee Dennis

I met Linda 4 years ago at the Mosby Building where we both worked. We became best of buddies instantly. She became a part of my family; vacationed with us at OBX; attended my family reunion in the Shenandoah Valley; went to the hospital with me when my 1st grandchild was born and attended birthday parties, anniversary parties and got into mischief once in a while. We were a team. She had my back and I had hers. Mary Jane Braaten

My heart is broken, but i am blessed by GOD to have Linda as my friend for the past 20 years. She was the friendliest person I ever met, and she never met a stranger. She loved her family and was a true loyal friend. Imagining that I will not see her again in this life brings me to tears. Linda, I love you dearly and will miss you deeply. Rebecca Boling Anna, TX

Linda it saddens me to know you are gone. But it looks like you had a good life. I remember all the times we spent at the lake, all the parties, your moms convertible we ran around in. The night we spent together with Debbie sickles and a few others. David tells that story all the time. We laugh and smile about it. You were a great friend. Wish we could have stayed closer. God bless your family and may he heal their loss soon. I love you Linda. See you someday. Emerson

I had the pleasure of meeting Linda through my sister Mary Jane. She always greeted me with her pretty smile. She shared a lot of her memories about her friends in Texas . We also shared our “grandma moments” of how much we enjoyed watching our granddaughters soccer games. It was always a fun time when I got together with Linda & my sister. You hardly ever saw one without the other. You will be missed a lot…Pretty Lady! Pretty Lady was one of her favorite greeting Pat Rowland

I knew Linda when she was in her early twenties, married to Ricky Short and living in Denton. She was a beautiful person with a kind heart. I idolized her and could see she was so in love with her handsome husband, who died so young. I moved away but never forgot this lovely woman.

I cannot believe a person with as much energy and joy for living can be gone.Linda as far as I am concerned you are my sister in law and that’s the way it will always be.You are a part of my family and I have lost a Dear loved one and it hurts.Summers will not be as bright and sunny and warm now ,knowing you are not there to join us in them.I believe that ,as I do with all my loved ones,we will see each other again. And the tears and sadness in our hearts today will turn to smiles and happiness once more.I Love You.

Linda and her always large entourage of friends & family, along with all our kids, spent lots of fun times at Lake Texoma near her mother’s home at Elks Lakesite. In 1970, Linda married my step-brother Ricky which began a close friendship that continued until I moved years later to Oklahoma. We were both young, newly married, and pregnant with sons born on the same day. Ricky died tragically in 1974, so young, leaving 3-year-old Shannon and a second son yet to be born. Linda was 19 years old. I remember the day after little Ricky was born we held a big baby shower for Linda in her hospital room. She was alert and happily greeted her many guests-the room was packed full. Hard to believe she had given birth barely 24 hours earlier. We all remember Linda with love. She was beautiful.

  • Lynda Hubble

    says:

To all of Linda’s family, Linda and I were neighbors. She was the 1st person to befriend me when I moved to Centreville. I was sitting on my little patio and she walked by, stopped, introduced herself and we had a little chat. As she was walking away, she turned around and asked “Do you like football?”. I said “YES – I love football”!! Even though we did not always agree on the same team. We have been friends since – team Linda and Lynda!! Linda was a good friend – she would make sure I got out to dinner and had some fun after work to relax and unwind. This past year has been very difficult for me. My mother was very sick and my sister and I brought her to her home with hospice and 24/7 care. I spent alot of time in my hometown in Southwestern VA. It is a 4 hour drive 1 way and I was gone about 4 days a week. Linda checked on my apartment, watered my plants and brought in my mail. The week my Mom died I ran out of my daily medication and she shipped it overnight to me. She had such a great big heart, solid gold. Most recently I moved furniture from Hillsville, Pulaski and Christiansburg VA up to Centreville. My help to unload it fell through, so Linda and I unloaded what we could and she managed to round up several men to help us. She was always there for her friends, was great at her job, respected and always busy and loved those grandchildren. I even got to gowith her one Saturday to see Libby play soccer, Linda was so proud. She will be missed, so very much. She was loved by many – a bright shiny star, so full of herself, 4th of July baby, patriotic, loyal Dallas Cowboy fan and a real force of nature. I will always remember her. Gone but not forgotten. Love and prayers to all, Lynda Hubble
