Linda Sue Jackson

Linda Sue Jackson, 77, a mother who will be tremendously missed, passed away on Thursday,
27 May 2021. Her love for her family and theirs for her was evident in her last days as her two
daughters, Keline and Kim, and one of her grandsons, Tim, stayed by her side continuously her
last week before going home. Linda, a devout Christian, is now in the arms of God and is at rest.
Linda was born in Dayton, Ohio, on 29 November 1943 to the late James Signor Ward and
Wilberta Mae Harnish Ward. Linda graduated from Fairmont High School in 1962. She has two
sisters, Judy and Ann, who currently reside in Dayton. After moving back to Kettering after her
divorce, Linda was part of a loving family and spent many a day with her family. One neat habit
the family had was when one of them left to return home was as soon as they made it home,
they would call their parents and leave a “one ringer” to let them know that they had each
made it safely home.
Linda had many passions in life, and one of Linda’s loves was singing. She was part of the Sweet
Adelines choral group. Linda had an amazing alto voice, and she traveled with them for many
years until moving to Texas.
Upon her move to Texas, Linda resided in the Grand Reserve Senior Community Apartments in
McKinney, Texas. She loved the community atmosphere at the Grand Reserve. Linda would play
bingo, chair volleyball, cards, and watch movies with her many friends. While at the Grand
Reserve, she took up coloring. She would color intricate designs, and she loved brightening
others’ days by giving them as an expression of her love for them.
Her greatest passion was her love for Christ and praying for others. Linda accepted Christ and
was baptized in 2008 at FBC Allen. She attended church with her daughter Keline and loved
being part of a larger community of Christians.
She is survived by her two sisters Ann Emerick and Judy Sanders of Dayton, Ohio; her
daughters, Keline David and husband Keith David of Denison, TX; Kim Hammer and her husband
Roger Hammer of Muskogee, OK; four grandchildren Heather Henderson and her husband,
Heath Henderson, Morgan Hammer, Timothy David, and Alex Hammer and his wife, Jenny
Hammer; and her three great-grandchildren, Holden Henderson, Harlowe Henderson, and
Hadley Hammer and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her
brother in law, Leon Sanders, her parents, James Signor Ward and Wilberta Mae Harnish Ward.
Johnson– Moore Funeral home in Denison, Texas, is making the cremation arrangements, and
Linda will be buried in Dayton Memorial Park and Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio, this summer.
