Lorna Dianna Jacobs, age 79, of Pottsboro, Texas, passed away on April 9, 2025, in Denison, TX. She was born on October 25, 1945, in Healdton, Oklahoma, to Leo and Kathleen (Cox) Herrington.
Lorna was united in marriage to Don Jacobs on July 27, 1969, in Healdton, Oklahoma. Together, they shared many years of love and joy until Don’s passing in 2012.
Lorna was a dedicated educator for many years, teaching computers and business at Deer Park High School. Her passion for teaching and guiding students touched the lives of countless young people. She was also a devout member of Parkside Baptist Church in Denison, Texas, where she loved volunteering and deeply enjoyed studying her Bible.
Her family was the light of her life, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. She cherished time spent with them, and her love for them was a constant source of joy and pride.
Lorna is survived by her children, Andy Jacobs and wife Nancy of Baytown, Texas; Donna Ramsey and husband Kenny of Durant, Oklahoma; and Dennis Jacobs and partner Mari Cris Koeppen of Pottsboro, Texas. Her grandchildren include Micha Allbritton and husband David; Kinsley Schiebe and partner Aaron Markham; Price Jacobs and wife Gabby; Georgie Greene and husband Caleb; Trace Jacobs; Kacyn Ramsey; Shaelyn Ramsey; Brileigh Ramsey; and Alexis Jacobs. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Warren Jacobs, Walker Jacobs, Ace Allbritton, Beau Markham, Audrey Allbritton, and Calder Greene.
Lorna is further survived by her sisters, Phyllis Hartman and husband Timothy, and Barbara Wade; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and church friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Kathleen Herrington; her husband, Don Jacobs; and her sisters, Linda Jones and Colleen Willoughby.
A funeral service to honor Lorna’s life will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Parkside Baptist Church, 301 N Lillis Lane, Denison, TX 75020. Following the service, a committal will take place at Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro, Texas, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Don.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that memorial donations be made to Parkside Baptist Church or a local charity of your choice.
Lorna’s legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
