Mary Elium

February 26, 1932 - January 13, 2023

Mary Elizabeth Elium passed away on January 13, 2023, at the age of 90. She was born February 26, 1932, to William Thomas and Orpha Lee (Traylor) Wood, in Cooper, Texas. She was the youngest of 10 children.

Mary retired from Southwestern Bell in 1986 after working for 33 years. She was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church and loved the fellowship.

Mary had an amazing spirit and loving personality. She enjoyed her crossword puzzles, playing bunko with friends, watching football, reading, and cooking. Even though she never had any of her own, she had such a love for babies and children. This was evident as they always gravitated towards her. She was also an animal lover. More than anything, Mary enjoyed time spent with her family.

Mary is survived by many loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings. Although, she will be greatly missed by those left here on Earth, she is reunited once again with her parents, sisters and brothers.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2023, at the Georgetown Baptist Church, 207 Georgetown Rd, Pottsboro, TX 75076. The family will receive visitors beginning at 11 a.m. prior to the service at the same location. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Georgetown Cemetery, 539 Cemetery Rd. Pottsboro, Texas 75076 for a committal service.
