Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Noles, 81, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2014 at the Sherman Health Care Center.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel. The family will receive visitors 1 hour prior to the service. Reverend Craig M. Sturm will officiate.
Liz was born in Brookston, Texas on December 22, 1932, the daughter of Paul Luther and Fern Hostetler Simmons. She graduated from Freemont High School in Los Angeles, California. Liz and Louie Lucion Noles were married on September 24, 1949 in Las Vegas, Nevada, he preceded her in death on July 6, 2005. She worked alongside her husband with several business ventures, including landscaping and a 7-11 store and was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Myron Louie “Mike” Noles of Denison; daughter, Shirley Jeannette Noles Ruffin of Sadler, Texas; brothers, Paul Simmons, Jr. of Rudlands, CA, Doug Simmons of Garden Grove, CA,, and Stanley Curtis Simmons of Denison; sisters, Ollie Abbott of Placerville, CA and Betty LeJon of Salt Lake City, Utah; sister-in-law, Joyce Simmons of Downey, CA.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louie and brother, Jackie Simmons.
