Patricia “Pat” Nathalia Wakefield Curtis
Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Nathalia Curtis, 90 of Tahlequah, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord on May 26, 2024. She was born on June 11, 1933 in the midst of the Great Depression in Hendrix, Oklahoma.
Patricia, known to her loved ones as “Nanny,” had a fulfilling career journey. After high school, at the age of 16, she ventured to Dallas and worked at the Texas News Company. Throughout her life, she took on various roles, from being a dedicated housewife to working as a seamstress for Levi Strauss and later as a lab tech for Standard Brands, which transitioned into Nabisco, where she eventually retired.
She was a woman of many talents and passions. Patricia loved unconditionally and treasured Christmas dearly. Her creative spirit shone through in her love for arts and crafts, writing poems and short stories. After retiring, she devoted herself to her family, embracing her role as Nanny with open arms.
Patricia leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her daughters Nancy Henley, Gayle Factor and husband Greg of Tahlequah, OK and son Dale Curtis and wife Laura of Texas. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Mechelle Clark and husband Shane, Clint Henley and Beverly, Opie Maines and wife Jessica, Chrissy Gruber and husband Steve, Ryan Dick and wife Robyn, Jimmie Dick and wife Mandy, Heather Factor, Trey Curtis, Jimmie and Jessie Henley, Ashley Anderson and husband Garrett. 22 Grandchildren, 13 Great Great Grandchildren and 4 Bonus Great Great and a host of extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents John Earl and Lusta N. Wakefield, her brother Paul, sister Ginger, husband Holland “Bud” Dale Curtis Sr., daughter Vicki Cazzelle, and grandsons Adam and Houston Factor.
Patricia was a dedicated member of Hyde Park Presbyterian, serving as an elder and choir director. She found joy in various hobbies, including being a part of Parents without Partners, where she served as president, and the Red Hat Club.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 1st at 11AM at Oakridge Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life to honor Patricia’s memory. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Contributions in her honor can be made to St. Judes’s.
