Patricia “Patsy” Guynes Smith

Patsy Smith, 83, of Pottsboro passed away peacefully at Texoma Medical Center in Denison on Tuesday; June 21, 2022.
Patsy was born on January 19, 1939, in Denison, TX. She was the daughter of William “Bill” Guynes and Willie Bea McCarroll. She married J.T. “Tommy” Smith in September 1956 in Durant, OK. She is preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Cathy Smith.
She worked as a typesetter for the Denison Herald for many years and continued to take the paper until her passing, keeping up with all of the happenings in the Texoma area. She was the most dedicated mother and an amazing caregiver to her daughter, Cathy, and to Tommy as he battled cancer. Even in her last years as a resident at the assisted living, NaNaw’s Place, she insisted on caring for others that she felt could use a helping hand though she too needed assistance. She and Cathy shared many hobbies – sewing, crocheting, genealogy, reading, and shopping trips to Hobby Lobby and Wal-Mart among others.
She is survived by her son, Steve Smith and his wife, Jennifer of Pottsboro; daughter, Amy Replogle of Inola, Oklahoma; grandson, Thomas Smith and granddaughters, Caitlyn Smith and Sydney Replogle.
Visitation will be from 6 pm until 8 pm on Tuesday, June 28 at the Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel.
Memorial services will be at 11 am Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel with Jerry Huggins officiating.
