Rayetta “Ray” L. White, 88, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Woodlands Place Rehabilitation in Denison.
Ray was born on July 8, 1933 in Sherman, Texas, the daughter of Raymond Doc and Louise Gertrude (Paradeux) Marse. She graduated for Sherman High School. She was married to Virgil White and he preceded her in death.
Ray was a homemaker, accomplished seamstress, baker and decorator of cakes and, according to her daughters, had “a heart of Gold”.
She is survived by her son, Jeff White and his wife, Amy of Pottsboro; daughters, Sandy Thornburgh of Rapid City, SD and Donna DeVuyst of Apple Valley, MN; step-daughters, Virginia Dodson of Denison and Jeanine Hale of Minnesota; brother, Pat Marse and his wife, Linda of New Mexico; sister, Eleanor Saffle of Waco, TX; best friend, Sandy Garrison of Denison and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Per her wishes, she was cremated and no services are planned. She will be interred with her husband at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX.
Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
