I spent many years at Raymond’s home in Colbert, OK and his home on E. Texas street in Denison, TX. He was a Godly man, loved the college and career group he and Glo taught for many years. The trips to Glorietta, New Mexico, the spending hours with me in the Wagonwheel playing in all day tournaments to win 1st place! The trips to eat Mexican food from Gloriettavto Santa Fe were awesome! I love you Homey and thanks for sharing your life with me.

What a special man and good friend. Many great memories of Raymond, and Gloria, from their time in Linden, and visits at the cabin. His positive influence on so many will live on as a testiment to his Christianity, enthusiasm, sense of humor, and concern for others.

Squirrel hunting down by the river or working cows. There was always a smile on his face. Under the beard. He meant a great deal to a lot of people. I think of all the people in our group who he touched the lives od during our early years.

Raymond was a wonderful man and a great friend. I loved being a part of his Tuesday night Bible studies as a young adult and cherish the memories of being with him and Gloria when we went to Glorieta for College Week. He and Gloria loved the Lord and wanted us to have that same passion for Christ so that we could be ready to meet Him some day. So many times, he would ask, “Are you ready?” He was ready, and now he is in the presence of God. i’m saddened to lose him, but rejoice in where he is now!

We always had a good time with Raymond and Gloria. Whether it was during Sunday School, Bible study, Halloween Haunted House, or just hanging out with the Copleys, we were the ones that were always blessed. We’ll miss you, Raymond, but only for a little while. We’ll see you again soon! So glad Jesus is your savior and that you have that mansion waiting for you!

Raymond light has gone out but he shines trough all of us who know him and had the privilege of being friends. He and Glo call me Julio can’t even remember why, but that’s only one of hundreds of good memories we share and forever be in our hearts. Always in our harts and in our minds for that is the joy we will carry, he made each one of us better.

I’ll always remember Raymond driving the bus to Glorita. One year my mother went with us. Mother always looked for interesting rocks. She would ask me to pick them up and carry th for her. She pointed out a rock about 14 or 15 inches long and as big as a loaf of bread. She told me to pick it up. I said emphatically to mother, “I am not picking that rock up.” Rains heard me and he reached down and picked it up, raised it Over his head and said, Rachel, I will pick it up for you. He put it on the bus and I still have that rock in my flower bed in the front yard.
