Robert M. "Bob" Mitchell, 77, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Bellbrook Cottage in Pottsboro.
Friends may visit the family at the residence of Zo Anne Aday.
Graveside services will be in the Chapel on the Hill Mausoleum at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Officiating will be Reverend Russell Clemons.
Bob was born on August 26, 1934 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Mervin and Lorene Warren Mitchell. He was raised by his grandparents, Cleveland and Lillie Mitchell in Iowa Park, Texas and graduated high school from Iowa Park. He married his loving wife, LaMoyne Ruth Lovett on June 25, 1961 in Marietta, Oklahoma and spent 32 wonderful years with her until her death on December 7, 1993. Bob lived in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma from 1966 until 1997. He retired from Sears Truck Tire Division in Oklahoma City in 1986 and worked for T&W Tire in Oklahoma City until his retirement from there in 1996.
The family requests donations be made in Bob's name to UT Southwestern Medical Center, Alzheimer's Disease Research, P.O. Box 910888, Dallas, TX 75391-0888.
He is survived by his sons, Robert M. Mitchell, Jr. of California and Billy Vaughn Ruth and his wife, Kayleen of Prior Lake, Minnesota; daughters, Mitzi Gimenez and her husband, Alain of Austin, Texas, Melanie Stevenson of Milton, Ontario, Canada, Zo Anne Aday of Denison and Sherry Lynn Mitchell Ewing and her husband, Pat of Fort Worth, Texas; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, LaMoyne Ruth Mitchell; father, Mervin Mitchell; mother, Lorene Warren Mitchell; brother, Jarvis Mitchell; sister, Vivian Wilbanks; and daughter, Marsha Mitchell.
