Robert Griffin of Pottsboro, Texas passed away on May 28, 2023 at the age of 33 as a result of complications from a staph infection. He was born on March 30, 1990 in Dallas, Texas to Harry and Julie Cloud Griffin.
Robert was loved by all and hated by none. Growing up, Robert was in the gifted and talented program in the Pottsboro School District. He was an intelligent and athletic person. He excelled in sports and was a part of the basketball all-star team and held the record for 103 consecutive free throws. He was honored with scholarships for his athletic abilities. He had the uncanny ability to fix and repair anything. He was a person with many talents including welding, woodworking, artwork, computers, and music. Despite Robert’s health obstacles, he possessed a strong work ethic that was inherited from his mother. He always stood up for the underdog. Unbeknownst to many, Robert would give his own clothes, shoes, and food to those in need. He had a generous heart that was unmatched. Robert was regularly attending church and bible study as he gave his life to the Lord. He loved his family and friends deeply and will be missed by all and never forgotten.
He is survived by his mother, Julie Pryor and husband Wesley of Pottsboro, Texas; sister, Natalie Griffin of Sherman, Texas; niece, Lily Kitchen; grandmothers, Carol Cloud and Wanda Griffin; aunt and uncle, Frankie Griffin and Deirdre Harrington and husband Eric; spouse Brittiany Harp Griffin; mother-in-law, Tammy Harp; and multiple cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Tom Cloud and Larry Griffin.
A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M., Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel, 511 W. Hwy 120, Pottsboro, Texas 75076. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Georgetown Cemetery, 539 Cemetery Road, Pottsboro, Texas for a committal service.
