Robert Douglas Ulch, passed away on November 25, 2023, at the age of 77. Born on January 31, 1946, to Lester Ulch Sr. and Lula Mae Sutherland, Robert lived a life as vibrant as the many roles he effortlessly embraced.

His journey through life was as diverse as it was colorful. From the choppy waves of Galveston, where he worked tirelessly on a shrimp boat, to working at a furniture finishing business, to his expertise as a tree cutter in Nokona, and tending as a rancher in the Gunter area, Robert’s passion and dedication knew no bounds. His skilled hands found their way to Texoma Axle, where he welded with precision and skill, leaving an indelible mark.

Yet, beyond his multifaceted career, Robert was a beacon of warmth and humor. His magnetic personality drew people in effortlessly, leaving an indelible impression on all fortunate enough to cross his path. His laughter was contagious, a testament to his innate ability to lift spirits and bring joy to any situation. As a caretaker, his heart overflowed with kindness, always ready to extend a helping hand to those in need.

Family held a special place in his heart. He adored his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them. His legacy lives on through his eight children: Johnny Kellis, Janet Osbourne, Patricia Jackson, Ricky Kellis, Donna Abbott, Robert Kellis, Connie Lee, and Teresa Jean Stokes, along with an extensive family tree of 35 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

In his final journey, Robert rejoins his beloved wife, Lois, in the embrace of eternity. He is welcomed by his parents, five sisters, one brother, and numerous other departed loved ones. His memory is lovingly preserved by his brother Lester Ulch Jr., sister Ruby, as well as several nieces and nephews, each carrying forward the essence of his spirit.

Robert Douglas Ulch’s departure leaves behind a void impossible to fill, yet his laughter, love, and unwavering kindness remain etched in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy of compassion and joy will echo through generations, a testament to a life well-lived and deeply cherished.
