Ronnie D. Bruce, 84, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 at NaNaw’s Place in Denison.
He was born in Denison, Texas on May 16, 1937 to Claude Leon and Johnnie Sue Ashbury Bruce.
He graduated from Denison High in 1955. Ronnie joined the National Guard on April 5, 1955. He and Virginia P. (Ginger) Carter were married on August 10, 1956 in Denison at Hyde Park Presbyterian Church.
In June 1964, he made Second Lieutenant; June 1967 First Lieutenant and January 31, 1972 he got his commission.
Ronnie was a member of Northside Church of Christ in Bonham. He worked for Gavirn Press, Eslers Paint Store, MKT Railroad, Johns-Manville in Denison and J-M in California.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, LaVerne Montgomery; twin brother, Lonnie B. Bruce; step-father, George Wells and great niece, Sandra Michelle Boatwright.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 65 years, Virginia (Ginger) Bruce of the home; daughter, Rhonda Long of Point, Texas; granddaughter, Stephanie Ellison and her husband, Andrew of Denison; great granddaughter, Emma Morris of Denison; sister, Linda Bell and her husband, Ken of Denison and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 27, 2021 in Fairview Chapel at Fairview Cemetery in Denison, 1501 Hwy 91.
Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.

    Ronnie and his family meant a lot to me when I was young and they were neighbors on Scullin Ave. My prayers are with his family, especially his sister, Linda Bell, who was a dear friend in childhood. My God bless his soul.

    My dad was the greatest Dad on this earth. The greatest gift he and my mom gave me was to no you God God was first in our lives no matter what they told me God never left us out of his planes and we never left him out of ours my dad thought me to fish to play softball and to work on cars he took me to my first Dallas cowboy game in 1972 in Texas stadium against the Miami dolphins and we won he would take me.and my friends and we would do Chinese fire drill all the way down main Street Daddy you were always here to take care of me and to protect me but I no you are in heaven still looking over me I will always be you little girl I miss you so much dad but I no I will see you again soon my loved his family so much I never talked to him or say him that he did not tell me how much he love me I love you Dad with all my heart
