Ruth was born October 25, 1916 at Hagerman, TX to Marlin and Willis G. Jones. Her high school years were spent in Grandfield, OK. Upon returning to the Willow Springs area in Texas, she met and married Carlos E. Miller on December 2, 1934 in Denison, TX. For the past eleven years, she has lived with her daughter and son-in-law in San Antonio, TX. Most of her life she lived in the Hagerman, Willow Springs and Pottsboro area. She and Carlos attended Hagerman Baptist Church. That church and the people in the community meant the world to them.

Ruth was preceded in death by both parents; her husband; sister, Audrey Terrell; brother Grady Jones; son-in-law, David L. Forbes; and grandbaby, Diane Forbes.

Survivors include her daughter, Kay Miller Forbes of San Antonio, TX; sister, Emma Starling Mathes of Benbrook, TX.; grandson, Bruce Forbes and wife Kathleen of The Woodlands, TX; granddaughter, Joyce Baeker and husband David of Crosby, TX.; great-grandchildren, Brooke Forbes, Alexis (Lexi) Forbes, and Kirk Baumgardner.

Pallbearers will be Franklin Lewis, J.M. Lewis, Ronnie Lewis, Gary Miller, Neal Shires and Glenn Thurston.

There are not enough ways to say "Thank You" to Vitas Hospice, San Antonio. Their loving and professional care in Ruth's last weeks will never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to your favorite charity.

We pray God will be very near to each member of Ruth’s family. We had fun calling each other “cousin”, even if the connection is ‘way back’. Mary Grace loved her and she loved Mary Grace. Her sweet smile will be missed.

I met your mother while I was working at the post office. We became friends. Ruth’s smile and the twinkle in her eye would always make my day brighter. May God bless you and your family.
