Denison
Sara Jane Bunting, 87 year old resident of Denison, died Monday, February 15, 2016 at Texoma Medical Center.
Sara was born in Ocala, Florida on February 18, 1928, the daughter of Thomas and Flora Higgins Maston. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in nursing from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Sara enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam Theatre as a flight combat nurse and retired as a Major. Sara and Billy Hugh Bunting were married in 1970 in Stanford, Connecticut. Sara was of the Episcopal faith. She traveled all over the country with her husband, fishing. Sara loved gardening and had a massive garden. Billy preceded her in death on October 21, 2008.
She is survived by her sons, Billy Lynn Bunting of Atlanta, Georgia and Robert Hugh Bunting of Denison, Texas; seven grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy; brothers, Brooks, Brian and Thomas Kilgore and sister, Margaret Kilgore.
Memorial services will be conducted in Leesburg, Florida.
