Selma L. Zitterkob Garner, 93, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 28, 2021.
Selma was born at home in rural Tillman County, Oklahoma on March 8, 1928, the daughter of George and Eva (Stoll) Zitterkob. She graduated from Indiahoma High School. Selma and George Garner were married in Vernon, Texas on January 10, 1948. He preceded her in death in 1996.
She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker extraordinaire. Her hands were never idle, from making clothes for the family, quilting and embroidering. Her children, grandchildren and friends were all blessed with the gifts of her quilts. She loved family reunions where she got to spend time with her grandchildren and her nieces and nephews, getting to know, and love, the children of her siblings.
Selma is survived by her sons, Wylie Garner and his wife, Marilyn of Gainesville, Texas, Earle Garner and his wife, Julie of Henrietta, Texas, Merle Garner and his wife, Judy of Grand Prairie, Texas and George “Peewee” Garner and his wife, Paula of Gainesville, Texas; daughter, Phyllis Floyd and her husband, Ray of Wellington, Texas; brother, Clarence Zitterkob of Tulsa, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman with Danny McMahan officiating.
in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to: Heart to Heart Hospice, 600 E. Taylor Street, Suite 3005, Sherman, TX 75090.
Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.

    My Aunt Lillie, brought Zelma to Vernon. To meet all our Family, but met the Love of her Life , married and had her Family here in Vernon , busted there house often, and was there when all her Children were born, we grew apart as our Family’s grew, but never lost all the memories. Prayers and alive to all.
